Recognition is different from accreditation.

Accreditation

In Australia, accreditation can only be done by a government agency tasked with the accreditation of courses. For vocational studies, this is ASQA (Australian Skills Quality Authority)

Many providers in Australia and associations claim that they "accredit" courses. This is inaccurate and can be quite confusing for students.

IAP accredited courses (11271NAT Diploma of Clinical Hypnosis and Strategic Psychotherapy, the CHC51015 Diploma of Counselling, CHC43315 Certificate IV in Mental Health, CHC81015 Graduate Diploma of Realtionship Counselling) are accredited nationally by ASQA.

Recognition

Associations can only recognise or approve (to their standards) any courses that are delivered.
